The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with human-centric design principles is redefining the development of autonomous support systems across diverse domains. As these systems transition from rule-based automation to adaptive, context-aware intelligence, ensuring usability, trust, and safety through design becomes paramount. This paper explores the evolving synergy between AI and human-centered engineering, analyzing key literature on trust models, explainability, and human-in-the-loop architectures. By synthesizing insights from aerospace, industrial automation, and healthcare, this research highlights design frameworks and strategies that foster effective human-AI collaboration. Ultimately, the convergence of these paradigms aims not only to enhance system intelligence but also to ensure ethical, inclusive, and sustainable deployment.
